У словнику представлено поняття й терміни, уніфіковані в Законах України, що регулюють відносини в інформаційній сфері; національних і державних стандартах України; міжнародних стандартах, прийнятих Держстандартом України з бібліотечної, інформаційної та видавничої діяльності й суміжних галузей, а також документів Міжнародної федерації бібліотечних асоціацій та установ (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, IFLA). Обсяг словника – понад 470 термінів із визначеннями, у словнику відбито системну організацію термінології, вживаної у сфері бібліотечно-інформаційної справи, зокрема, каталогізування документів. Словник розрахований на працівників бібліотек та інших інформаційних установ, науково-педагогічних і наукових працівників, докторантів, аспірантів, студентів закладів вищої освіти і коледжів, які навчаються за спеціальностями бібліотечно-інформаційної галузі. The dictionary presents the concepts and terms unified in the Laws of Ukraine regulating relations in the information sphere; national and state standards of Ukraine; international standards adopted by the State Standard of Ukraine for library, information and publishing activities and related fields, as well as documents of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). The volume of the dictionary is more than 470 terms with definitions. The publication reflects the systematic organization of terminology used in the field of library and information affairs, in particular, in cataloging of documents. The dictionary is designed for librarians and other information institutions, academic and research staff, doctoral students, post-graduate students, students of higher education institutions and colleges who study in the field of library and information industry.
