As a result of writing the work, the features of optical transport network and synchronous digital hierarchy technology, transport networks based on Gigabit Ethernet technologies, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, were considered. The structural schemes and principles of operation of components of multiservice transport platforms based on the ONS 15454 series from Cisco are presented. Features of optical components for construction of optical networks were given. The process of managing the hedge on the basis of the possession of the ONS 15454 by Cisco was considered.
