У ході дослідження систематизовано наукові погляди щодо природи сленгу, розглянуто його типологію, схарактеризовано продуктивні способи словотвору англійського сленгу, визначено семантичні групи сленгізмів. Виокремлено тактики перекладу сленгізмів, які включають транслітерацію, транскрипцію, калькування, заміну сленгу еквівалентом, контекстуальний переклад, локалізацію, перефразування. Розроблено методику навчання студентів перекладу сучасного англомовного сленгу у ЗВО. The qualification work is devoted to the study of the problem of translating modern English slang into Ukrainian and the peculiarities of teaching the translation of slang units by translation students. In the course of the study the nature of slang was revealed; its typology was considered; productive methods of word formation of English slang were characterized; semantic groups of slangisms were defined; the specificity of the translation of modern slang from English to Ukrainian was described.The findings of the study emphasise that the main tactics of translating slangisms include transliteration, transcription, calquing, replacing slang with an equivalent, contextual translation, localisation, and paraphrasing.
