Мета цього дослідження полягає у розкритті ролі прислів'їв під час вивчення іноземних мов. Прислів'я - це комунікативні одиниці, невеликі тематичні тексти. Вони не мають заголовка, є автономними і являють собою конденсат народних спостережень. Загальновідомо, що прислів'я та й інші образні вирази мови відіграють важливу роль у міжкультурному спілкуванні. З огляду на це, представленість прислів'їв у навчальних підручниках є вагомою складовою успішного опановування іноземної мови. The interlacement between language and culture becomes apparent when proverbs from different languages are analyzed. This paper aims to discuss the role of proverbs in the teaching and learning of a foreign language. Proverbs are communicative units, small topical texts. They don't have a title; they are autonomous and represent the condensation of people's observations. There is clear evidence that proverbs and other figurative language play an essential role in intercultural communication and language teaching.
