These strokes are less represented in the scientific literature, are more difficult to diagnose, have a more severe clinical course and have higher mortality compared to anterior circulation strokes. Terminological definitions and classification of PCS have been discussed and changed over the years. That is why we consider it necessary to focus the attention of physicians on the modern classification of PCS.
