Важливе значення мають також комунікативні установки особистості на спілкування з іншою людиною, яка розглядається як найвища цінність суспільства. Культура спілкування пов'язана із культурою мовлення, тобто здатністю індивіда використовувати оптимальні для конкретної ситуації мовні засоби, етичні норми. Феноменологія іншомовного спілкування фіксує як стандарти взаємодії й комунікації, так і соціокультурні особливості.
