The primary objective is to monitor the most important performance characteristics of the network and the computer hardware in order to choose the most suitable strategy for implementing TCP echo servers. Five different implementations are selected that cover both thread-based, event-driven – asynchronous, and hybrid solutions. The results of conducted experiments demonstrate that under continuous stress load, a hybrid solution that combines threading and asynchronous polling has the best metrics. However, the investigated multi-threaded implementations though generally substantially slower, can provide better results in certain scenarios. popup.nrat_date 2025-11-05 Close
