The dissertation is devoted to the study of the essence of the institution of pre-trial compensation for damage, the determination of its content, the analysis of international legal acts regulating the procedure for restoring the rights of victims violated by a crime or misdemeanor. The work states that pre-trial compensation for damage caused by a criminal offense is a way of pre-trial and judicial criminal procedural protection of the rights of individuals and legal entities.
