На перехідний період було виділено п'ять років, тобто до червня 2024 року чинними вважалися і старі, і нові правила, щоб носії мови могли з ними звикнутися і засвоїти їх. Перехідний період був потрібний і для оновлення програмного забезпечення, оскільки, наприклад, старі версії Microsoft Office не розпізнають нові варіанти слів і вважають їх неправильними. Завданням дослідження було встановлення рівня дотримання нових правописних норм в українських медіа, зокрема і в регіональних, після завершення перехідного періоду, встановленого для їх впровадження. Встановлено факт недотримання окремих правописних норм в аналізованих медіа. Констатовано необхідність роз’яснювально-популяризаційної роботи щодо норм Правопису української мови – 2019, зокрема, і через медіа. On 3 June 2019, the final text of the new version of the Ukrainian Spelling Book was published on the official websites of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Five years were allocated for the transition period, meaning that both the old and new rules were considered valid until June 2024, so that native speakers could get used to them and learn them. A transition period was also needed for software updates, as, for example, older versions of Microsoft Office do not recognise the new word variants and consider them incorrect. The objective of the study was to determine the level of compliance with the new spelling rules in the Ukrainian media, including regional ones, after the end of the transition period established for their implementation. The research has established the fact of non-compliance with certain spelling norms in the analysed media.
