Проаналізовано взаємодію цих жанрових компонентів і їх еволюцію в контексті пізньої вікторіанської епохи. Звернено увагу на розмиття жанрових меж, що сприяло виникненню нових літературних форм. The paper examines the problem of genre hybridisation in Robert Louis Stevenson’s novella “Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde”, which combines elements of Gothic literature, science fiction, and detective fiction. It analyzes the interaction of these genre components and their evolution in the context of the late Victorian era. Attention is drawn to the blurring of genre boundaries, which contributed to the emergence of new literary forms.
