The work carries out a scientific and theoretical analysis of the essence and problems of the concept of image in psychological and pedagogical literature; the main types of image and its functions in the structure of pedagogical activity are analyzed; the principles of forming the professional image of the future teacher were studied; the level of formation of the image of future university teachers was investigated.
