Всі підприємства зберігають грошові кошти на своїх розрахункових і поточних рахунках, через які проводяться всі грошові операції без обмеження їхнього переліку. Законодавством України затверджено правила безготівкових розрахунків. Від правильності організації та дотримання методології ведення бухгалтерського обліку грошових коштів та розрахунків залежить діяльність підприємства. Дана робота присвячена обґрунтуванню теоретичних, методичних та практичних аспектів обліку і внутрішнього аудиту грошових коштів на рахунках у банках і розробці шляхів їх удосконалення. .
