Єдиній системі митних органів належить особливо актуальна роль у розробці та проведенні політики, що знижує загрози національній та економічній безпеці, підвищує конкурентоспроможність національної економіки, зміцнює продовольчу безпеку за допомогою застосування митно-тарифних та нетарифних механізмів регулювання зовнішньоекономічної діяльності. Дана робота присвячена поглибленню окремих теоретико-методичних положень щодо удосконалення засобів та інструментів митно-тарифного механізму регулювання зовнішньої торгівлі як індикатора конкурентоспроможності зовнішньоторговельної політики країни. At the current stage of the development of foreign trade relations, a significant role is assigned to the optimization and efficiency of the customs and tariff service, which forms the state budget. The unified system of customs authorities has a particularly relevant role in the development and implementation of policies that reduce threats to national and economic security, increase the competitiveness of the national economy, and strengthen food security through the use of customs-tariff and non-tariff mechanisms for regulating foreign economic activity.
