It was found that patients with COPD have multi-component disturbances of immune system with prevalence of T-lymphocytes insufficiency and their subpopulations disbalance, which is associated with B-lymphocytes hyperreactivity, depression of non-specific defensive mechanisms and activation of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines and disturbances in the balance of the lipids peroxidation-antioxidant defense system in blood and in the expired breath condensate. It was revealed that haloaerosol-therapy has a positive influence on the COPD duration and is associated with improvement of the lungs ventilation, immune reactivity and antioxidant defense. The best result was found in cases, when haloaerosol-therapy was combined with immunomodulator inhalation.
