Methods of research: biochemical, histological, immunohistochemical, statistics. Aim of the research: studying and introduction of new methods of diagnostics of animal diseases (prion infections). Also, establishment of the age dynamics of the protein range, oxygen-dependent processes and cytomorphological indices of the medulla oblongata, spleen and lower jaw lymph node and the pre-end post-natal periods of development, as well as definition of availability of prions in the biological fluids of animal organisms. The conducted work has resulted in understanding and acquiring the techniques of defining physiological prion-proteins with the help of Western-blot analysis. Research work on the of medulla oblongata of cows, the spleen, the lymph node, the general and specific protein content , intensiveness of mitochondrial respiration, influence of substrates and inhibitors of the respiration chain upon theconsumption of oxygen by organelles, the intensiveness of respiration of the microsomal-cytosol fraction, histomorphological indices of the tissues, the contents of lipid fractions and microelements, has been conducted. The presence of a protein zone with a molecular mass of 30 kDa in the leucoconcentrate obtained from cow blood has been detected. The protein spectrum of the tissues and blood of laboratory animals (white mice) fed with the tissues of cattle brain has been studied. The studied mice have demonstrated a distortion of the protein spectrum towards an increase of high molecular proteins (more than 35 kDa) and reduction of low molecular ones (less than 31 kDa).
