It was ascertained that Zn1-хСохO films are ferromagnetic at room temperature and have a column-like microstructure. Complex optical studies have showed that the Co2+ ions are in the tetrahedral oxygen environment, i.e. they substitute Zn2+ ions in the regular positions of wurtzite structure. The inter-band electron transitions of CO2+ centers were observed for the first time in the low-temperature PL spectra of Zn1-xCoxO films. The SQUID studies showed that Zn0.85Co0.15O films are ferromagnetic at room temperature which is caused by indirect exchange interaction of isolated CO2+ ions as well as CO2+ ions in the cluster (Со О Со)n (n > 1) configurations. The temperature dependencies of the magnetic susceptibility of Zn0.85Co0.15O films, obtained under the magnetic field at 1000 E within the temperature range 2 - 300 K, showed the presence of substantial anisotropy in the magnetic properties.
