The aim of our research is introduction of rare species of Ukrainian flora, obtained from natural localities and as a seed material, study of their seasonal development, seed quality, assesment of their viability in the botanical garden and perspective of their introduction, study of different methods for their conservation. Study of ecological and biological features of some rare species in the nature, especially those ones, that are poorly investigated. First results of introduction of selected rare species show the success of their cultivation in conditions of the botanical garden. All species are perspective for cultivation. The basic indicators of their living conditions indicate that the ex situ conditions correspond to their ecological optimum. This factor makes possible their successful cultivation. Ecological and biological features of 13 rare species have been studied. There are poorly investigated species.
