METHOD OF DETERMINING PERMANGANATE OXIDABILITY" The object of the study is mineral drinking water, medicinal water, medical drinking water and natural drinking water. The purpose of the work is to develop a method for determining the permanganate oxidizability of mineral drinking water, medicinal water, medical drinking water, and natural drinking water. To solve the set goal, the following tasks must be solved: - to develop a methodology for determining the permanganate oxidizability of mineral drinking water, therapeutic water, medical drinking water, and natural drinking water. Research methods: titrimetric method. The research was conducted on the basis of the testing laboratory of the SE "KYIVOBLSSTANDARTMETROLOGIA". The developed technique applies to mineral potable medicinal water, medicinal-table water and natural table water. The essence of the method is the oxidation of organic substances with a solution of potassium permanganate in acidic or alkaline media during boiling. The method allows determining the amount of organic substances, the oxidation of which consumes up to 10 mg/dm3 of oxygen. In natural waters, along with inorganic compounds, more complex organic compounds are present. The variety of these substances is quantified by the degree of oxidation of water, that is, the amount of oxygen required for the oxidation of organic and some inorganic (Ре2+, Н28, N02) impurities in 1 dm3 of water. The acidity of water is its important hygienic characteristic. Increased oxidation is a sign of water pollution. Since samples are titrated with a solution of potassium permanganate for the analysis of lightly polluted and drinking water, this type of oxidation is called permanganate.
