The scientific-methodical basis for the indirect-analytical determination of the thickness of the coating on superhard abrasive powder grains has been developed. The methods and calculation algorithms for determining the thickness of the coating have been improved based on the 3D model of the grain, the pycnometric ratio between the mass, density and volume of the solid body and the additive property of the volume itself. A grinding tool from superhard powders with multi-component coatings was produced. It was determined that coating the surface of diamond or cubonite grains with a combination of carbide and B2O3+B4C oxide increases the wear resistance of grinding wheels by 1.5 times guaranteed.
