Head Havriushenko Dmytro A., Доктор фізико-математичних наук Registration Date 11-06-2025 Organization Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv popup.description1 The research objective is to identify the characteristics of the diffusion spread of radioactive substances in liquid systems, which form the basis for estimating the diffusive fluxes in predicting the long-term consequences of nuclear weapons use and addressing the tasks of of civil protection for the population in the event of radiation threats. popup.description2 The relevance of the tasks set follows from the modern tasks of radiation safety and civil protection of the population in Ukraine to minimize the consequences of emergencies associated with the spread of radioactive materials that have entered ecosystems as a result of the use of modern nuclear weapons or man-made accidents caused by military actions. An analysis of modern scientific and technical literature indicates that modern approaches to assessing the magnitude of diffusion flows of radioactive substances (diffusion transfer during leaching of radioactive substances from reactor fuel elements, diffusion processes in the soil, etc.) have a number of shortcomings associated with insufficient understanding of the impact of radiation from a diffusing substance on the equilibrium and kinetic properties of liquid systems where diffusion occurs. To create reliable methods for assessing the magnitude of diffusion flows of radioactive substances and predicting the rate of spread of contamination in an ecosystem, it is necessary to create a reliable physical model of diffusion in liquid systems of various configurations in the presence of radiation exposure. However, at present, these methods are usually developed based on empirical data on the value of diffusion without taking into account the physical mechanisms that lead to changes in the equilibrium and kinetic parts of the diffusion coefficient in the presence of radiation exposure, and do not take into account its dependence on local concentrations and pressure. Therefore, the study of the features of the diffusion of radioactive substances and the determination of key physical parameters that determine the nature and magnitude of diffusion flows will allow the development of technologies in the field of radiation safety and is currently an urgent task.   Product Description popup.authors Bardyk Vitalii Yu.
