The purpose of the project is to create a new "green" way of selective catalytic conversion of polysaccharide components and lignin components from biomass of the second generation (waste wood, food industry, agricultural production, etc.) into products with high added value: safe chiral compounds (levoglyucosinone) and various aromatic compounds (benzene, toluene, xylene, etc.), respectively. Levoglycostenon (LHZ) is a functional chiral molecule platform with many potential industrial applications, including the synthesis of materials for the pharmaceutical, polymer and food industries.
