The fundamental goal of the project is to create an analytical theory to describe the physical origin of the polar, electronic and structural properties of low-dimensional graphene-like transition metal dichalcogenides (LD-TMDs); and apply the theory to predict, optimize and control their properties. The applied goal of the project is a roadmap for the creation of LD-TMDs with controllable polar and electronic properties for the advanced applications in nanoelectronics and biomedicine.
