Modernization of the education system in Ukraine is aimed at fulfilling the demands of the state, society and the individual, who was formed in the situation of democratic transformations taking place in the country. Competitiveness in today’s labor market largely depends on the ability of the employee to acquire and develop skills and abilities that can be applied or transformed in a number of situations. A successful professional and social career is impossible without a willingness to master new technologies, the fundamental change of which occurs approximately once every five years, without adaptation to different working conditions, or without the ability to perform new professional tasks. To solve this problem in education, a new approach has emerged – the one based on competence. From a practical point of view, the competence approach is a means of strengthening the applied, practical nature of all education (including in particular subject learning). With regard to mathematical education, knowledge of basic mathematical laws and rules, quantitative research methods, algebraic computational techniques is one of the most important requirements for the professional activity of a modern specialist. Without basic school training in mathematics, it is difficult to imagine successful university education or self-realization in the labor market, because mathematics forms the very system of intellectual and moral attitudes of the student and develops a certain intuition. Mathematical competence contributes to the adequate application of mathematics in order to solve the problems of everyday life. popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
