The aim of the study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of historic residential areas in Krakow and Kyiv using modern theories and tools of urban analysis to formulate strategic recommendations for their sustainable development and integration into the modern urban structure, in particular, taking into account the concepts of eco-city, sustainable and pedestrian city. A comprehensive urban planning analysis of the study areas will allow to formulate recommendations for the sustainable development of historic residential areas, taking into account the modern requirements of the eco-city, increasing the integration and connectivity of urban structures, improving the quality of the urban environment for residents, ensuring that planning policies and the preservation of urban structures meet modern environmental and functional standards.
