The goal of the project is to study novel low-dimensional systems that include: (1) graphene multilayers in proximity h-BN polarization superlattices, (2) twisted bilayer graphene in presence of heterostrain, (3) one-dimensional pseudospin-1 systems with flat bands. All these systems feature flat bands and we plan to accomplish their comprehensive theoretical study by means of a combination of analytical and numerical tools.
