This project aims to explore the intricate morphological interactions between adult neural stem cells (aNSC) and their neurogenic niche, specifically investigating the alterations in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Focusing on two key questions, the study seeks to understand changes in structural interactions between aNSC, astrocytes, and microglia in AD using a common mouse model. Additionally, the project examines the impact of vascular amyloidosis on aNSC perivascular processes, exploring potential dysregulation of proliferation in the context of AD. By employing advanced microscopy techniques, this research aims to uncover crucial insights into the pathogenesis of AD, offering a foundation for understanding aNSC regulation within the neurogenic niche.
