popup.description1
The purpose of this study is to observe and investigate the physical characteristics of objects in the hot population of the Kuiper Belt. The research focuses on selected objects in the Kuiper Belt. The main component of the study is conducting original observations of the selected objects using a modern telescope (Newton 0.5-m + CCD Kepler KL4040 + UBVRI filters) located at the Observatory on Mount Pip Ivan (2,028 m) with the aim of refining their orbital parameters, which will improve the accuracy of numerical modeling and the reliability of the results obtained. It is planned to integrate the orbits on the VSCNU’s own server in the backward direction of time (with an approximation over an interval of up to 4.6 billion years).
Based on the observations obtained, the plan is to determine the color indices and rotation periods of Kuiper Belt objects, construct surface models, and determine the orientation of the rotation axes of Kuiper Belt objects, as well as establish whether they belong to the inner or outer parts of the Solar System. The general model of the Solar System’s evolution—from primordial planetesimals to individual Kuiper Belt objects—will be verified and refined.
