The research project is part of the activities aimed at establishing the German-Ukrainian Core of Excellence (CoE) “PLASMA-SPIN-ENERGY” at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (hereinafter referred to as the CoE). The project to establish the CoE, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), has a duration of four years. During the implementation of the CoE establishment project, the development of novel, advanced plasma-processing devices is planned. These devices are expected to significantly improve the control of particle and energy fluxes during magnetron sputtering. This research project is intended to cover the expenses of the CoE team at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University that are not covered by funding from the German partners.
The research will be conducted using a range of innovative methods for investigating nanoscale binary systems previously developed by the project authors. In 2026, the project aims to investigate approaches to controlling the structural and phase states of thin films. In particular, mathematical modeling will be performed to study the effects of incident molecular beam energy and size effects on the formation of stable and metastable phases in a binary system characterized by pronounced spin-dependent properties. The results obtained will also be experimentally validated.
