The aim is the elaboration of the subject-matter and the methods of children's correctional-developing and preventive training in connection with their preparation for the school. The research's newness consists into the elaboration and realisation of the psycholinguistic approach to the analysis and diagnostics of the speech function's development and its forming in the norm and patology. The results: I. The psycholinguistic model of the forming of speech in the norm was elaborated. The standard levels of the child's speech development and the stages of forming of the psychological mechanisms, which provide speech development, were determined on the basis of the indicated model. II. The conception of the children's linguistic preparation to the school teaching was substantiated. III. From the stated positions were determined and experimentally tasted: - the subject - matter and the diagnostic methods of the mental and speech readness of the children with the speech breaches to the teaching into the schools providing general education and into the school for the mentally defective pupils; - the subject - matter of the correctional - preventive and developing training of the indicated seven-year-old children. The methods: the experiment of the ascertaining and forming disposition, the analysis and generalisation of literary data, the observations.
