Single crystals of andalusite (up to 1,5 mm) were grown for the first time.Their morphology was studied in details.Growth mechanism was found to the same for microcrystals of both andalusite and sillimanite. Formation kinetics was studied for pyrophyllite, mullite, fint-grained quartz and opal. Cristals andalusite is utilized for production of the millimeter-range quantum generators (masers). Results, obtained in the course of investigations, are of importance for the genetic mineralogy as well.
