It was shown, that nitrogen alloying of austenitic steels increases concentration of free electrons, carbon alloying decreases of it. Correlation between sort of prelevant interatomic bond was found. It was determined, that nitrogen and, particularly, nitrogen+ carbon intensify metallic bond in austenitic steels and promote atomic ordering. Mechanism of hardening by nitriding of austenitic steels and interaction between lattice defects and soluted atomics was specified. It was determined, that nitrogen intensifies strain hardening of austenitic steels and promotes m echanical twinning. Decrease of stacking fault energy accounts for the twinning. Correlation between concentration of free electrons and stacking fault energy has been found. It has been shown, that bond energy between nitrogen atoms and dislocations is higher then energy of bond between dislocations and carbon atoms. That enables to explain anomalous hardening by grain boundaries. Nitrogen+carbon alloying enables to rich yield stress more than 2000 Mpa at the satisfactory moldability. It has been invented high-strength and corrosion-resisting steels, which has been proposed for utilization in aircraft industry. Act of Science-Industrial Complex with result of spring test, which has been made of developed steels, has been attached. It has been apply for patents: "High-strength stainless steel" (registration number 2000105603, dated 02.10.2000), "Hydrogen-resisting steel" (registration number 34572А, dated 15.03.2001).
