Aim of the work: To determine involvement of neuromediators of different biological nature in the mechanisms of antistressor and correcting effect of melatonin under normal conditions and HPACA disorders. Metods of investigation: biochemical, radioreceptor. Resalts and their novelty: It has been established that single melatonin administration in clear time of the day to intact rats had a marked influence only on the state of GABAergic system. Melatonin effect depended upon the multiplicity of its administration and basal functional activity of HPACA. Single or multiple administration of melatonin considerably changed the reaction of neuromediator systems of brain of intact rats to acute stress, while in animals with suppressed HPACA function the hormone was found to be incapable to substantially correct the disturbed stress response of different neuromediator systems of brain, though a partial positive effect of the hormone - especially of its multiple administration, and mainly on the state of GABAergic system - took place. It has been established in studying melatonin influence on adrenal function, that melatonin administration to intact rats inhibited the basal level of functioning of adrenal cortical and medullar layers, and modulated - most substantially under conditions of immobilization - the degree of stress-induced increase in corticosteroid secretion. Melatonin in animals with HPACA disorders had no positive influence on the stress-response of adrenal cortex - in case this was disturbed - but renewed the stress-response of adrenal medulla. Degree of introduction: scientific articles and reports. Sphere of application: endocrinology, neurochemistry.5635 Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
