Original technologies for micro- and nano-size clusters and thin semiconductor layer formation (Si, CdTe, SiGe and others) placed on a free surface and embedded in different dielectric matrixes have been developed. Physical mechanisms of photoluminescence and field emission of these systems were established. Investigation of silicon photovoltaic convertors of solar energy allowed us to formulate criteria for obtaining high parameters of the devices, enhancement of their radiation stability and others.
