In particular, the optical coordinate grid method for strain and stress estimation on a spacimen surface in crack tip after overloading was developed. Using the methods of coordinate grid and finite element method the analysis of stress-strain state conditions ahead of crack tip in elasto-plastic statement were made. The accuracy of optical coordinate grid method for stress-strain state estimation ahead of fatigue crack is demonstrated. Using the developed fatigue crack growth model after compressive and tensile overloading, which is based on the idea of residual stresses definition in crack tip, the technique and software for prediction of fatigue crack growth under variable amplitude (operating) loading in aluminum alloy D16chT (2024T3) was developed. The fine compiliance of calculated and experimental data of fatigue life under variable amplitude loading (airplane wing spectra with compressive loading) was obtained.
