Aim of working out standards - raising the quality of fresh vegetables, ensuring safety of the output for a man's life and health and environment preservation, as well as protection of consumers rights. In the basis of standards for specifications of new fresh table beet with leaves, new parsley, radish and green onion there are results of scientific researches on the technology of fresh vegetables growing, storage and processing. Quality indices, determined in national standards, will favour getting the high qualitative vegetable output and will be the base for objective price formation when introducing new varieties. The worked out standards are intercommunicated with normative documents in force for environment preservation, work safety during sorting, packing, transportation, storage, as well as with documentson packing equipment et. Novelty of investigations - in the worked out standards for fresh vegetables there is foreseen distribution of the output into two commercial grades - first and second, used terms and methods for sampling according to the State Standard of Ukraine ISO 874-02; the demands are given for safety and environment preservation, the requirements for storage are brought to conformity with the requirements of International Standards, and they also are brought to the modern requirements of consumers and the State System of Standardization. After coming in force the Standards will be used at farms of all forms of property in Ukraine, which are occupied with production, storing up and selling of fresh vegetable output.
