Aim of working out the standard – to harmonize the requirements for fresh table beet quality and protection of consumers rights up to European level. The worked out project of the standard defines and describes the signs of the I and II quality criterions, belonging of table beet to a botanical species. It determines principles of sorting, packing, transportation, storage and methods of quality definition. Maintenance the norms of the standard will give the possibility to limit the content of residual quantities of pesticides, radionuclides, heavy metals, potuline mycotoxin, nitrates. The scientific-technical level of the standard is up to the modern requirements of national economy and the State system of standardization in Ukraine. The standard will be used by organizations, enterprises, which are occupied with growing, storing up, processing and selling table beet. The worked out standard will further the quality maintenance of fresh table beet, its preservation and the output safety for a man’s health, as well as for environment protection.
