Instrument including mechanical device with screw mechanism for initial rapprochment between the probe and sample, control piezohead with 3D tip positioning capability, probes for the tip's position determination and acoustic probe metering the acoustic signals originated from the tip-surface interaction, and supporting electronic components has been fabricated. Instrument control is provided by custom-made software issuing commands from the computer to the electronic control module.
