Researches of photosensitive explosive compositions (PEC) are conducted. Іt is shown by numeral method, that the initiating ability PEC is mainly determined by the parameters of detonation transformation and poorly relied on geometry of charge. The experimental samples of optical detonators are approved at implementation of works on welding by the explosion and marking of oil pipes.
