Aim of investigation is improvement of economic and ecological parameters of the diesel and petrol engines at partial load and at idle by means of applying new power capacity control systems. Methodological basis of the investigation is theoretical and experimental methods. Theoretical researches of working process of such engines where performed on personal computer. Experimental engineless and motor bench tests was developed by means of fuel supply system test bench and electrical brake test benches. Distinctively new power capacity control systems for petrol and diesel internal combustion engines were designed and manufactured in experimental model. The thesis is devoted to investigation of economical, ecological and dynamic parametersof diesel multicylinder engine, in which power capacity is controlled by means of separate working cycles switching-off. The mathematical models of working process and dynamics of such diesel engine where improved. It enabled to determine its economical and dynamic parameters. The algorithm of working cycles displacement at cylinders of the engine were developed and investigated. The process of combustion was investigated and the basic thermodynamics parameters of a working process cycle which follow after one, two, three and four successively missed cycles where determined too. Theoretical researches where performed on personal computer. Original technique for engineless and motor bench tests was developed. Аs a result of experimental bench research has been carried out on diesel engine with original fuel supply system. The research results indicate the following: the fuel economy of engine has improved by 21,7...45,5 % at idle. The cyclic fuel feeding affects on ecological parameters considerably. The exhaust emissions NOx have been reduced to 15 % in the area of the middle loading. Results of this study can be applied in machine building and mechanical engineering.
