Aim of the work - increase of the fresh vegetable produce quality, ensuring the produce safety for the life and health of people and environment protection, as well as protection of consumer's rights. As a basis for the standards for fresh garden pea and fresh sweet corn there were taken results of scientific investigations on breeding, technology of growing, storage and processing of fresh vegetables. The determined in the national standards indices of quality will favour obtaining the high qualitative vegetable produce and will be the basis for objective price formation when introducing new varieties. The worked out new standards are interconnected with the normative documents in force on environment protection, labour safety during grading, packing, transportation, storage, processing as well as with the documents on package equipment, et. Novelty of investigations - in the worked out standards there are listed conditions of safety and protection of environment, used terms and methods for samples selection under the State Standard of Ukraine ISO 874-02. According to norms of international standards, the law of Ukraine "About Safety and Quality of Food-Stuffs", statements of the State System of Standardization and modern demands of consumers there are listed requirements to storage and markering. The standards after coming in force will be used at farms of different forms of property in Ukraine, which are occupied with production, purchase, processing, sale of the fresh vegetable produce.
