Aim of the work - ensuring quality of fresh peas for green and pattypan, intended for sale and fresh consumption and for processing as well as safety of the produce for the life and health of people and nature preservation. The national standards were worked out according to the requirements of the national system of standardization the State Standard of Ukraine 1.2:2003 "National. Standardization, Rules for Working Out National Normative Documents" and the State Standard of Ukraine 1.5:2003 "National Standardization, Rules for Construction, Account, Design and Requirements to the Content of normative Documents". In the worked out drafts of the standards on peas for' green and fresh pattypan there is envisaged dividing of the produce into two marketable grades - the first and the second, method of sampling for quality control according to the State Standard of Ukraine ISO 874-02. The drafts of the standards contain requirements to safety and protection of environment, keeping to which is compulsory. Quality indices and their norms in the worked out drafts of the standards are sufficient for ensuring quality and safety of the produce. The scientific-technical level of the Standards meets the requirements of consumers, achievements of science and the national system of standardization. The normative documents will be used in the sphere of vegetable growing, by producers of different forms of property, who are occupied with growing and sale of peas for green and pattypans.
