The peculiarities of the orientations of nematic and cholesteric liquid crystals were explored. The nature of molecular orientation of liquid crystals with nanostructured solid surfaces was determined. It was established the influence of nanorelief anisotropy of substrate surface modified by ion and plasma processing on the orientation of the molecules of liquid crystal. Mechanisms of laser-stimulated formation of low-dimensional structures on the surface of semiconductors were investigated. Regularities of these processes, depending on the composition of the material, condition of its defect system and the irradiation conditions were established. Physical basis for the formation of high light-emitting devices based on semiconductor nanocrystal structures of II-VI in dielectric matrices of different types were developed.
