The model system for the control of the reactive oxygen species formation in mithohondria was elaborated. This model can be useful for the understanding of the molecular mechanisms of apoptosis. It was demonstrated that interferone and its derivatives alters metabolic and electrical activity of the nerve cells owing to modulation of potential sensitivity and kinetic characteristics of sodium channels.
