The report provides analysis results for available technical solutions aimed at increasing operation life and capacity of WWER rod control cluster assemblies. It was demonstrated that combined utilization of the cladding made of a zirconium alloy with a hafnium core in the lower part of WWER-1000 RCCA ensures their reliability, safety, and extended operation life. There was developed an advanced WWER-1000 absorber element design, prepared design documentation, and developed manufacturing procedures for absorber elements of the developed design
