Batch compositions and the growth conditions of the single crystals of HgGa2Se4 and CdGa2Se4 by the solution-melt method were selected. The existence of the solid solutions in the AgGaGe3Se8-AgGaGeS4 system was established, and the single crystals were grown. The crystal structure of the solutions was determined by X-ray powder method, and the mechanism of their formation was proposed.
