The subject of the research: lingual-didactic bases on effective maintenance for the process of teaching foreign languages to the pupils of 8-9th forms in a basic school according to the strategic directions and conditions. The aim of the research: to determine content for teaching foreign languages of 8-9th forms pupils, methods, forms and means of its realization in textbooks and manuals and to work out the technologies for implementation of content in the system of school foreign education. The methods of research: theoretical analysis of scientific literature, syllabi, textbooks and manuals; questioning; experimental teaching; analysis of received results. The results of the research: conceptual bases for teaching foreign languages of 8-9th forms pupils are worked out and theoretically grounded; the content for teaching foreign languages of 8-9th forms pupils are theoretically grounded and experimentally checked; concepts of textbooks and manuals, as means of teaching content realization, are worked out. The results of the research are given in the textbooks of German and Spanish languages for the 8-9th forms, educational and methodical manuals, methodical recommendations, series of articles. The scientific novelty of received results consists in theoretical grounding and working out content of teaching foreign languages of 8-9th forms pupils; in organization of determined content in textbooks and manuals, constructed on the bases of communicative-active and personnel-oriented approaches and according to pupils' age peculiarities, interests, educational and life experience. Social and economic efficiency of this work is that the investigation of determined problems will contribute to improvement of process to teaching foreign languages at basic school; will insure pupils with effective means of learning; teachers, higher education teachers, methodologists, scientific workers, authors of textbooks, students - with scientific grounded didactic and methodic materials, and it will made some contribution to the theory and practice of teaching foreign languages at secondary educational establishments.
