It is established that in comparison with the initial pearlitic-ferritic structure of steels significant acceleration of fatigue crack growth caused by the appearance of bainitic-martensitic phase is observed here. It happens when for high-strength steel ?Kfc value decreases from 59 to 45 MPa м1/2, and for medium-strength steel does not change. Fractography of certain fractures found local changes of fatigue fracture micromechanism for high-strength steel from trans- to intergranular as opposed to medium-strength steel. The influence of complex alloying of graphitic steels on strength, hardness, fatigue crack growth resistance characteristics is studied. The dependence of graphitic steel microstructure on the Mn, Cr, Ni і Mo content is estimated. It is established that fatigue crack growth resistance vary non-monotonic with the increase of strength and decrease of plasticity, and is optimal for graphitic steel containing 0,6% Mn, 0,3% Cr and 1,2% Ni.
