It was found that adsorptive behaviour of monomers is characterized by the highest sensitivity to the changes of the protein aggregation state. The interaction between cytochrome c and lipid bilayers composed of phosphatidylcholine and cardiolipin was studied by the resonance energy transfer method. Based on the Monte Carlo analysis of multidimentional data arrays it was suggested that cardiolipin content and ionic strength modulate the ratio between lateral redistribution of lipids, cardiolipin transition to extended conformation and the formation of hexagonal phase.
