Influence of laser treatment, high-temperature annealing and thermochemical treatment on the transformation of non-metallic inclusions and inclusion-steel matrix boundaries causing contact interaction between non-metallic inclusions and steel matrix was investigated. Peculiarities of formation of composite zones near inclusions containing micro- and nanophases were studied. Peculiarities of laser melting and crystallization of non-metallic inclusions were investigated/ It was shown main role of interphase inclusion-steel matrix boundaries in the development of corrosive processes. It was shown possibility of receipt of composite material with carbide inclusions, which improves the mechanical properties of the cutting tool surface, increase of resistance by 50% and the wear resistance of 1.5-1.8 times.
