The influence of alumina additive (with -Al2O3 content more than 90 %) of different producers (Ukraine, Hungary) on the main properties of samples from zirconia-corundum ramming mix has been investigated. It has been determined that using of investigated aluminas additive in the composition of the indicated mix provides approximately equal indexes of properties of samples from mix after firing at temperature 1750°C: open porosity 15.0-15.5 %; apparent density 4.73-4.77 g/cm3, and cold crushing strength 34-37 MPa. Aluminas, investigated in the present work, are recommended as additive for production of ramming mix grade of "СЦИГН". Using obtained results a change No1 project to technology instruction ТИ 24- ИО-165-2008. As a result of carried out researches, a raw materials base for production of the indicated mix is expanded. Phase-forming processes in the samples from zirconia-corundum ramming mix have been investigated in the temperature range 200 - 2100оС. Established that most complete interaction between P2O5 and mix samples is realized in temperature interval 1200-1400о С and is appear as destabilization of cubic ZrO2 phase, which is attending by little samples weakening (CCS from 81-88 till 55-66 MPa). Samples temperature treatment increasing up to 1750-2100о С leads to yttrium and zirconium phosphate destabilization and to secondary stabilization of ZrO2 and to gradual samples hardening. It has been determined that into phase-forming process in the temperature range 200 - 2100оС the indicated mix has sufficient strength for providing constructional strength of lining in the performance.Using obtained earlier results directed to technology improving of powders from zirconia, stabilized CaO, for plasma spraying, in a present work a change No1 to technology instruction ТИ 24- ИО-177-2009 for its manufacture developed. According to developed documentation an improved manufacture technology of these powders has been mastered.In OJSC "The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S. Berezhnoy" the pilot batches of ramming mix and mortars from ZrО2, stabilized Y2O3, powders from ZrО2, stabilized CaO, for plasma spraying, powders of chrome-nickel spinel for plasma spraying and periclase-chrome powders for crucibles of induction furnaces were produced. These refractory products were intended to consumers in Russian Federation.The work should be continued in the direction of the further improvement of production technology of powders from ZrО2, stabilized CaO, for plasma spraying and mastering of improved production technology of zirconia-corundum ramming mix.
